Caspian™, Autonomous Pond Guardian
Security Shouldn't Compromise
You built your pond to be a sanctuary, a place where the world slows down and beauty takes center stage. But for many, that peace is fragile. For years, the hobby has forced a heartbreaking choice: lose your living jewels to predators, or lose your view to a net.
The net is a form of surrender. It is a visible admission that you cannot protect your sanctuary without turning it into a cage. At Equinox, we believe your pond puppies deserve better. The Caspian™ is the invisible sentry that watches 24/7, ensuring that the only thing you see when you look at the water is the grace of your collection.
Hidden in Plain Sight
Technology should be felt, not seen. The PondProtector chassis is modeled after natural floating islands, featuring integrated planter pockets. By dressing the device in aquatic plants combined with the mossy rock design motif, the instrument disappears into the ecosystem.
To the heron, it is a sudden, startling deterrent. To you, it is simply a beautiful part of the garden.
Engineering The Solution
Instant Hydraulic Response
Garden hose deterrents are reactive and often too slow. By the time they pressurize, the violation has already occurred. Our Hydraulic Capacitor stores water under 70 PSI in a "ready-fire" chamber. The moment the sensor trips, a volumetric burst is released instantly in under 50 milliseconds. No spool-up time. No 1-2 second sprinkler sweep. No missed opportunities.
360° Sentry Vision
Land-based sensors leave blind spots that clever predators eventually exploit. The Caspian™ solves this from the center of the water. Anchored in the middle of the floating planter are the system's eyes and active defense. This central mast houses an array of three overlapping 110° PIR (Passive Infrared) sensors to create a flawless 360° perimeter of vigilance. Because it views the environment from the exact center of the habitat, it leaves no path for an undetected approach.
Ultra-Low Energy Design
Our onboard solar array sustains the device's intelligence, while the internal pressure chamber handles the physical defense. Because of the pressurized water design, we are able to engineer a system using highly efficient pumps and valves. With no power cords or hoses to mar your landscape, it remains vigilant through cloudy days and dark nights alike and can last up to 5 days with zero sunlight. The system can remain at full charge with just 3 hours of sunlight a day.
Technical Architecture
Float Material
Rigid, Closed Cell Foam
The foundation of the Caspian™ is a high-density camouflage hull. Built for permanent deployment, this marine-grade foam is UV-stabilized to prevent degradation under direct sunlight and is completely impervious to waterlogging. The material is biologically inert and non-toxic; ensuring safety for your pond ecosystem.
Solar Power
10W Flexible Monocrystalline Solar Array
The Caspian™ uses a flush-mounted, marine grade, 10W monocrystalline solar array integrated directly into the chassis. This high-efficiency panel ensures continuous energy generation even in dappled sunlight or overcast conditions, maintaining peak system readiness without the need for external power cords or shore-based tethers. The energy-efficient system can remain 100% charged with as little at 3 hours of dappled sun a day.
Power Architecture
12V 6Ah LiFePO4 Battery
Power is managed by an industrial-grade Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) battery. Selected for its exceptional thermal stability and a lifespan exceeding 2,000 charge cycles, this core provides up to five days of autonomous operation in complete darkness. This ensures the system remains online and fully pressurized during extended severe weather.
Hydraulic System
1L Hydraulic Capacitor
At the center of the firing mechanism is a 1-liter pressurized hydraulic chamber. Maintained at a constant ~70 PSI by an internal low-draw diaphragm pump, this capacitor eliminates mechanical spin-up time. It stores potential energy to deliver a zero-latency, high-velocity water strike the instant a threat is validated. Upon triggering, 70 PSI water is directed from a manifold of 16 x 1 mm brass nozzles spraying a highly disruptive stream of water at ~80 mph.
Sensors
Triple-PIR Sensor Array
Threat detection is driven by a cluster of three outdoor-rated passive infrared (PIR) sensors providing a continuous 360-degree monitoring field. Calibrated to detect the specific thermal and motion signatures of predators, the array can detect movement in a 30-foot radial detection zone, securing a 60-foot total protection diameter from the center of the water feature.
